Wind Chill Advisory

URGENT – WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM EST MONDAY.

WHAT: Very cold wind chills expected. The cold wind chills will
cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.
Expect wind chills to range from 0 to 5 below.

WHERE: Portions of north Georgia, generally along and north of
a line from Summerville to Jasper to Cleveland, including the cities of Calhoun, Dahlonega, and Blairsville. Also Including the Counties of Dade, Walker, Catoosa, Whitfield, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Union, Towns, Chattooga, Gordon, Pickens, Dawson, Lumpkin, and White.

WHEN: From 10 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Monday.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Low temperatures will drop to 10 to 15 degrees across extreme north Georgia. Winds will be north at 5 to 15 mph.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS: A Wind Chill Advisory means that cold air and the wind will combine to create low wind chills. Frost bite and hypothermia can
occur if precautions are not taken. Make sure you wear a hat and gloves.
